Radical Numerics is using AI to solve some of biology’s hardest problems, from detecting cancer earlier and designing personalized cancer vaccines to understanding rare diseases. That research is what made the project exciting to me: the challenge was finding a visual language that could make complex ideas understandable without losing what makes them remarkable.
At Pixel, I worked on the visual identity, website and film art direction. We had ten weeks to bring the brand refresh, website and initial launch films together, with design and production moving in parallel.
Website
The graphic system extends across the website, connecting biological information, images and code.
Biological signals, code and portraiture connect across the system’s static and moving applications.
What does it mean to solve biology?
Films: The films introduce Radical Numerics through the people behind the research and the problems they’re working on. They move between the founders’ ambitions and specific applications, including AI-designed phage therapy.
Animation: The animation takes a closer look at how Omnii works across different kinds of biological information. I worked on the art direction, finding ways to make the science easier to follow through shape, movement and sequence.
